welcome

I feel such pure joy getting to watch families grow. I was honored to be welcomed into this wonderful family’s home back in 2008 to photograph their stunning baby girl when she was brand new (just 4 days new if I remember correctly). I was once again invited into their home recently to help welcome the addition of not one, but two new baby brothers! I am over flowing with love and happiness to get to be part of these sweet boys beginning and to see their big sister grown so big and stunningly beautiful. There are days where know beyond any doubt that this is where I am meant to be.

I had a bit of a drive thought to get to their home from mine; about an hour or so through the back roads and fields. I remembered the curves of the road from when I was there three years before. It’s always so wonderful when I get a peaceful drive before I get to meet sweet new babies. After this session I felt compelled to call my Mom and ask about some of the women in our past, since I felt a connection to them. They were strong women, pioneers, health care providers and the women who would ride through the fields day or night, to reach the pregnant woman about to give birth; they delivered the new babies and broke in the wild horses at the same time. They were among the first to welcome the new little ones. What I do is so much different than what those incredible women were doing, but I love to see the parallels. The welcoming of new life. Being among the first honored individuals to say hello to these sweet new souls. What a powerful and amazing thread to feel a connection with. So much so, that it has shifted something in me and just may have slightly adjusted my life path. Who knows … we will just have to see with time.

Below are two images from my time with this family back in 2008. I adore seeing the similarities and the huge differences between the siblings. LOVE.

Peace and love to you friends,

A~
