One December day I was so lucky to spend my day with four extraordinary little people.  Something special was in the air this day – it was cold but oh, so lovely out.  Beautiful light spilled though the window so we danced, played and giggled in it.

It was a calm November day when I met you.  The cloud was a ledge that cut through the sky, dividing it one half blue and one half grey.  The grey seemed heavy and sank as the morning sun lifted higher, revealing the blue.  It was as though the sky was opening it’s eyes.   The edges softened to wispy wisps of white and the beautiful individual rays from the sun spilled down.  It was a good day.

It was beautiful to meet you baby girl.  Be good to your Mommy and Daddy.  They love you true ♥

This is a sweet little man that I had the pleasure of meeting and photographing just before my baby girl arrived.  He is the new, fantastic addition to this beautiful family.

I wanted to thank all my clients for their continued patience while I am adjusting to life with our new baby!  Things are going well, she is such a good girl!  I have even already had my first couple sessions since having her!  I will slowly be taking on more sessions as well, as soon as the little missy and I can figure out the technicalities of me being a working & nursing mommy.

I have made a large dent in my emails that were/are accumulating since I have been taking a break to be with my family.  If you have emailed and have not yet heard back from me, you will shortly! ** If you have called and left a voice mail but have not yet heard back from me, please contact me again (I often can get back to emails quicker though). ** Somehow my list of people to return calls to has gone missing here in my home office!  I suspect a bored 3 year old, newly middle child has colored on it then either thrown it out or ate it … neither would surprise me.  lol!!  I truly do apologize for any inconvenience.

Just a quick note, if you are thinking of contacting me for a session or for session information, please don’t put it off too long.  In addition to my regular schedule, I also have a special project coming up that will be taking up a portion of my availability.  I will be posting more details about that within the next month.

I photographed this little darling a little while back now, but was so busy that I never had the chance to share.  I am good friends with her mommy & daddy and I am so happy for them.  Congratulations my friends, on this beautiful family you have made.  There are so many amazing moments and adventures to come.

She has a hair swoop just like her big sister ..

She has the longest little feet and the sweetest toes … baby feet are amazing ..

She looks like her daddy.  They all do.  I love that ..

She is growing and already changing so much ..

She is three weeks old tomorrow but it feels like she has been here the whole time.  She fits right in like a tiny little puzzle piece.  She is my heart, my song and my third beautiful muse.

Thank you to all my wonderful clients who have been so patient with me over this past little while.  The mountain of emails are slowly getting answered and I do apologize for the delay.  I have to relearn how to type with one hand!  lol!  I have many, many sessions that I never got around to blogging before baby arrived.  I hope to stop by the blog again soon and perhaps post a couple, it’s been far to quiet around here.

Until then, I must run because … well, she just woke up and she is hungry.

When you look at your new baby, what will you remember?  I hope more than anything that I will be able to remember the small things — because those are the ones that often slip from memory.  I want to remember the way their hair fell around their ear or how their little toes would curl up when you touched the bottom of their foot.  I want to remember the soft fuzz on their cheek and how their lips would pucker when they slept.  I want to remember how the world melted away when I took the time to sit and stare in awe at this amazing new person.  They are pure hope and true possibility.

Ahhh — now this baby girl has quite the strong spirit!  Mommy and Daddy have a very independent lady on their hands here and I just love her!  She made us work and earn every image we got of her.  She has no doubt, given her Mama a story to tell when she looks back at these images for sure!  I also had the pleasure of photographing her Mama’s Maternity Photography Session back in May.

Red Deer is having a baby boom!  I bet you know at least 4 people right now that are either expecting or just had a baby!  This spring and summer has seen record breaking months at the Red Deer Hospital for deliveries.  I am just hoping I get a room on the maternity unit at the hospital when I finally go into labour with this little peanut!  LOL!

I have already started thinking about how I might design our announcement cards for this new baby once she arrives!  These cards are very popular with my newborn clients as well.  They are super delicious, press printed announcement cards that are a fabulous addition to any custom print order.  They don’t even compare to your standard, generic announcement cards that you see a lot of.  Each set of cards are totally unique to you, custom designed with your favorite session images and are a folded 5×7 layout.  To make them even better, they are press printed upon the most wonderful watercolour paper.  So not only are the cards enjoyed for their information, but they are also enjoyed for their beautiful custom imagery and textural goodness.  Ahhhh — a thing of beauty!

I wish I had time to take a photograph of every custom order that goes out because I simply love them all!  I did however, have a quick moment to grab some images of one little beauty that just left the studio not to long ago.  With this card, I found that the images really favored a unique 5×5 design.  I designed the card with an beautiful simplicity to let the images speak for themselves and not become cluttered.  Again, the texture of the watercolour paper really added another level to enjoy with this card.

I have had some feisty baby girls lately!  A new generation of wild spirits, untamed hearts and strong independent women in the making.  I love that.
